Hi! You can call me Dio and this is my passion project. Thyrsus and Kantharos originated from a life-changing mushroom trip at the time when everyone was stuck in their homes during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Restlessness led me to a patch of Panaeolus cyanescens growing in our cows’ pasture. Did I know at the time that it was the correct mushroom species? Honestly, no. But I was well aware of the magic that these mushrooms bring, and the eagerness to try them myself made me throw all common sense out the window. Under the shade of a mango tree, with the sun out and a nice breeze blowing, I ate them. Nothing was quite the same after that.
I’m not going to waste your time trying to narrate the unnarratable, because as anyone who’s been there knows, mere words fall entirely flat. Yet, like almost everyone who returns from that place, I was left with this overwhelming desire for more to cross the threshold and experience it for themselves.
But handing out mushrooms of questionable identity straight from cow poop isn’t exactly ideal. I have a background in microbiology and I wanted to do it right, so I took the time to learn more about mushroom cultivation and breeding to deliver clean, high-quality products people can actually trust. To this day, I’m still learning more and more about magic mushrooms, and it is my life’s mission to share that wonder and touch as many lives as possible with the exact same magic I found under that mango tree.
